Australia Gifts Armoured Vehicles to PNG

Australia has gifted Papua New Guinea 12 up-armoured Land Cruisers during a ceremony at Murray Barracks in Port Moresby.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, the Hon Richard Marles MP, and Papua New Guinea Minister for Defence, the Hon Dr. Billy Joseph, MP reaffirmed joint commitment for increasing interoperability between the two countries while growing and strengthening PNGDF capabilities.

'It is an opportunity to reaffirm the very strong relationship between our two countries which is growing stronger by the day. I think the state of our relationship on the 50th anniversary of Independence of Papua New Guinea is a credit to both countries and the defence agreement..' said Australia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, the Hon Richard Marles MP.
